Jessalyn McAlister Behbahani is a litigation attorney whose practice centers on motion practice, courtroom advocacy, and guiding clients through every stage of complex disputes. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and other high‑stakes commercial issues.
Her litigation experience is shaped by a strong foundation in advocacy. During law school, Jessalyn earned membership in the Order of the Barristers and was recognized as the first law student to receive the Excellency in Advocacy Award. As a member of the University of Houston Law Center’s National Mock Trial Team, she won multiple national championships and individual advocacy awards, including Best Closing Argument and Best in Texas Voir Dire. Her legal writing has also been recognized at the highest level, earning the top grade in Legal Writing and Top Write‑On Comment honors with the Houston Law Review.
Before entering private practice, Jessalyn interned for the Honorable Jane Boyle of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, where she researched novel questions of federal law and drafted orders on motions to dismiss, motions to strike, and default judgments. She also served as an intern with the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office, where she met with clients daily, reviewed discovery, drafted pretrial motions, and secured the granting of a motion to dismiss based on a client’s right to a speedy trial.
