There’s a lot of buzz about the upcoming total solar eclipse set to cast its shadow across the state in April. But we are buzzing about our own celestial celebration: our 2024 Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars. 

Shmyla Alam, Stephanie Matherne and David Watson are all included in the 2024 Rising Stars legal guide, which is pretty impressive.  

This is the fifth consecutive selection among the state’s top young Family Law attorneys for Stephanie and the third for Shmyla, attorneys who share in a devotion to supporting and advocating for their clients facing divorce, child custody and support, property division and other complex Family Law matters. 

We also are proud that David has joined the ranks of Rising Stars. This marks his first selection among the state’s leading young Business Litigation attorneys, one of the most competitive areas of Rising Stars recognition.  

These three occupy truly rarified air – only 2.5% of eligible attorneys in the state are honored each year. Rising Stars are chosen based on peer nominations and editorial research. Eligibility is limited to attorneys who are 40 or younger or in practice for no more than 10 years. 

So, while we are excited to see (with certified protective eyewear) the once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse, we are just as eager to see what the future holds for our own Rising Stars.
