Dawn Estes recognized among Top 100 Texas attorneys for the fourth consecutive year
Ah, award season. It conjures up images of beautiful people, picture-perfect makeup, bright camera flashes, amazing evening gowns and gorgeous slingback heels. One silver lining to the chaos of 2020 is that we can appreciate our legal peers’ recognition in our comfy athleisure wear accompanied by our favorite fuzzy slippers with our hair in a ponytail. Though, we aren’t saying we would pass up a chance to snag a new pair of those heels!
No matter how we dress for the occasion, we are once again tremendously thrilled to raise a glass of something sparkling to the 2020 Texas Super Lawyers honorees from Estes Thorne & Carr. This recognition is particularly meaningful because no more than five percent of Texas attorneys are chosen each year. Since our inception in 2008, the annual listing has included talented attorneys from our firm each year, and for 2020, six of our partners earned this Texas-sized distinction.
Most notably, Dawn Estes earned special recognition for a fourth consecutive year among the Top 100 attorneys in the state, regardless of practice focus. Super Lawyers also named her one of the Top 50 Texas female attorneys and Top 100 lawyers in Dallas/Fort Worth. The annual listing has included Dawn for her business litigation practice each year since 2003.
Our other attorneys selected among the state’s best in business litigation included Carol C. Payne and Linda G. Moore. Each of these women expertly navigates clients through various business disputes, and other lawyers across Texas have selected Carol’s work each year since 2014 and Linda since 2016.
Two in our family law practice stood out across the state as well. Managing Partner Jessica W. Thorne and Abby L. Ewing each provide caring guidance to clients as they move through the emotional legal maneuvers involved with family law. Jessica first earned placement on the list in 2005 and has remained on it each year since 2010 and Abby since 2015.
Finally, Lori M. Carr has built a career of defending clients in employment litigation. Other lawyers across the state know the depth of her experience in this practice area and chose to include her for Super Lawyers again this year. Lori has been recognized consecutively from 2006–2008 and also since 2014.
Thomson Reuters annually publishes Texas Super Lawyers in Texas Monthly and Super Lawyers magazines. Selection is based on a statewide survey of lawyers followed by an extensive editorial review.
