Chambers USA recently confirmed something about Dawn Estes that we’ve known for a long time: When she speaks, people listen. As such, it was no small wonder that the prestigious publisher of legal guides invited her to be a panelist for its “Leveraging Your Spotlight Ranking for Impact” webinar.
Speaking from experience and with authority, Dawn has always been a voice of trust for clients, courts, counsel and colleagues, earning praise from moderators for her “clarity in knowing your audience and your purpose” as a boutique litigation firm.
“We want to make sure that when people find us, they immediately know what we stand for and that they can trust us,” Dawn said. “Chambers has credibility for the legal audience, and lawyers, judges and general counsel immediately recognize the Chambers logo.”
Dawn also shared her view on the importance of a highly accomplished, sophisticated boutique firm earning continued recognition in the Chambers Spotlight Texas guide.
“Spotlight is huge for us,” Dawn said. “It immediately indicates we are a complement to big firms. We can’t and don’t want to compete with them for work. We will refer cases to them, and they will refer back to us.”
Dawn noted the firm’s Chambers recognition plays a role in recruiting new attorneys. In the past year, the firm has hired three new attorneys, with Chambers serving as an important signal of the firm’s credibility.
She urged the audience to capitalize on the ranking and have meaningful conversations with clients and colleagues.
“Chambers is more than a badge for your website,” she said. “It is an indicator of how you are viewed by others. You will get true and honest feedback. Some will be good, some may not be, but it will all be helpful in supporting one another. What you send out comes back in the long run.”
